Yonel and his guitar

Yonel  (cuatro cuban guitar) started playing guitar at six years old and used to sing and accompany his older brother and other musicians. At 7 he started studying violin at the ‘Escuela de Artes de Santiago de Cuba’. During those years he also learned other instruments like piano and percussions up to the counter bass which he played for years with the band ‘Son Chévere de Matanzas’. Later, Yonel moved to Habana where he started to play Tres, the 3 pairs of strings Cuban guitar and very quickly transformed it in a Cuatro with an additional strings pair which he uses now with Quinteto D’Amore.
